PANDI'S LEGACY
Pandi's Legacy provides the younger children of a small rural area in Gambia with the opportunity to go to nursery school every day.
For many children in Gambia obtaining an elementary education can be the difference between earning a living or spending a life on the street, to be able to care for their parents and siblings or for the family to have a lifelong struggle, we want to help them to have a stable future.
PANDI -my inspiration for the name and the charity.
While attending a local football match i met and became friends with many of the members of the Latrikunda Fc team, one of the players was Baboucar Camara better know as 'Pandi'.
A week after one of my regular visits I received the heartbreaking news that 3 of the footballers had been involved in a car accident, 2 were fatally injured and Pandi was seriously injured. In this area medical care is not free even in an emergency , we were unable to raise the funds for the urgently needed care and sadly he died one week later from his injuries.
The various strands of Pandi's Legacy will ensure this wonderful young man continues to encourage and inspire the young people of his community to use their talents, skills and abilities to help themselves and others.
